This striking medal is the Grand Collar with Cross of Honor of the Order of Saint Raimundo of Penafort, awarded in Spain in the 1960s to Don José Antonio Serrano Montalvo by the Provincial Council of Tarragona. The medal comes in its original case with sterling silver plate and is accompanied by a Diploma of Award signed by the then Minister of Justice of Spain. It is composed of three sterling silver pieces: Grand Collar with the Cross of Honor, Breast Cross and Miniature. They all bear the Latin inscription In Jure Merita that speaks of the reasons why this medal was awarded: it was bound to reward the services of justice-related professionals and civil servants. The medal (in its three versions) is composed by a cross with four white arms, with the figure of San Raimundo (Saint Raymond) standing in front of it with the Bible in his hands and silver laurel branches around him. With its great beauty and historic relevance, this three-piece Spanish medal is a wonderful item that will stand out in the best collection.
