This high distinction is the Commanders Plate of the Order of Cisneros, a civil order founded in 1944 by Spanish pro-Franco Fascist government, which is awarded in reward to relevant services provided for Spain in the field of policy. The distinction is a breast cross made of solid silver, enameled in various colors. It is a finely engraved piece, which shows a delicate work of silversmithing and a high attention to details, both features highlighting its beauty. The cross shows the general emblem of the Order consisting of a red and golden cross with four arms, with a background of four beams of arrows, the symbol of Isabel the Catholic. In front of the arrows we can see an Eagle, symbol of Saint John the Evangelist. It is black and sits on a yoke, the emblem of Fernando the Catholic. The yoke and arrows were also the symbol of Spanish Fascist Falange. It is worth stressing the engraving of the silver, above all in the arrows, delicately engraved to separate them on an individual basis and forming a beautiful filigree. The enameled cross is also lovely, showing fine red floral motives on a black background. These aesthetic features turn this distinction into a beautiful ornamental piece, which undoubtedly has a great historical value too, having witnessed one of the most important eras of contemporary Spains history. This piece, a hundred per cent original, will delight any lover of Spanish military antiques. Measurements: 74 mm height.
