Antique Italian telegraph-Morse station made circa 1900, in very good condition and in working order. This telegraph station preserves the original electric wiring. The electric system has not been tested, but mechanically the device is in perfect working order. The station is composed of two independent elements: a big body with the station itself and a smaller one with the telegraph or transmission key. Both pieces are supported by solid wooden bases covered by natural-mahogany veneer. They stand on small black spherical legs which provide them with stability. The station is composed of a rectangular-shaped brass body with a glass plate at the top. At the bottom we can see a hand-engraved circular mark with a bell and the inscription STANDARD ELETTRICA ITALIANA. Under this mark we can see the serial number 22130. We can also appreciate the intricate mechanism composed of different component parts, essential to make the mechanism work: gears, markers, levers, reels, springs They are all made of brass and make up an amazing example of mechanical engineering. Under the thick top glass plate (which can be removed) we distinguish the inner mechanism, complete and in good condition too. The top reel preserves the original paper strip. This antique Italian telegraph-Morse station is a truly original piece, worthy to belong to the best museum of telecommunications. Dimensions: Telegraph: Width: 11 in /28 cm. Depth: 5.5 in / 14 cm.
