Beautiful Mikki Phone Pocket Gramophone from the 30's. It is the 2nd version of this model that the brand would carry out. Although it has reduced dimensions we can find in this model all the necessary parts to obtain a perfect reproduction of a melody. The travel gramophones are characterized for being of reduced size but using the same parts and with a mechanics similar to the normal ones. Its parts are perfectly studied to be able to be housed in the small suitcase with brown handle that accompanies it, and it attaches several records and needles. One of the challenges of the phonograph industry was to create small portable machines that offered, in a small size, an acceptable sound quality. Surprising models were created for this purpose, looking for a system of parts that allowed their folding and assembly with a certain ease, trying to transport them in a compact package and as small as possible. In this sense, the "Mikky phone", which began to be manufactured in Osaka in 1930, was a true technological boast. Initially it was a Japanese imitation of a well-known Swiss gramophone called "Mikiphone", but the truth is that this machine developed elements of its own creation that turned it into a record reproducer as effective as it was original. The horn, a peculiar "U" shaped resonator, has its acoustic output directed towards the platter, using the surface of the record as a reflecting plane where the sound bounces. As can be seen in the photographs, the size of the machine is much smaller than the 25 cm diameter of the record, but, like other contemporary machines, the stability of the magnificent reproducer does not suffer when playing them. A perfect piece to start a collection that will undoubtedly grow. Measures: 11,5 x 14,5 x 10 cms (closed).
