This is a genuine piece, a horn gramophone His Master's Voice 100% original and not the more and more common copies made in India that are found in the decoration market. This is the original machine, not the copy! It attaches several records and needles, which will allow you to listen to music from day one. The gramophone will be a tough competitor of the phonograph when the German Emile Berliner invented it in 1887. It was an innovative reproducer device not based on the cylinder invented by the famous Edison, but on that round surface despised by the father of the phonograph. With the gramophone, the recording was developed laterally, through the groove, instead of the up and down movement of the phonograph. Between the disc and the cylinder there would be a bloody struggle, which would finally win the disc thanks to an aggressive advertising campaign that would make this format get more and more followers. The Monarch model of the Victor Company began to be produced in 1901, and a large number of models would be developed with small variations between them. In the beginning they were sold for $40 and were specially designed for 10-inch records. The brand His Master Voice (HMV) is perfectly identifiable by the logo of the famous Nipper dog listening to a gramophone. Incredibly this logo was at first designed for the gramophone competitor but finally it was changed, representing the gramophone in a very recognizable way. Precious piece of collection of elegant cut that will allow you to listen to melodies of yesteryear in a very special way. Measures: 33 x 33 x 33 cms (box) and 52 x 63 cms (horn).
