Magnificent German horn gramophone in very good condition and excellent working order. This is a really ancient piece that dates from around 1910 and looks as beautiful as when it was originally made. The item is made up of different pieces, all of them original from the era and very well preserved. Though they do not belong to the same original item they were precisely assembled in order to create a beautiful model. The gramophone has a solid oak wooden box, in great condition and embellished with nice moldings and carved pieces. The box has a small metal plate attached with the name and address of the shop where the gramophone was originally purchased: Verdsandhaus JAKOB KATZ. BERLIN Alexanderplatz Vis a vis Vom Banhof. The wood boasts an attractive satin finish that provides its golden color and veneer with shine and warmth. On one side we can see the crank designed to start the motor, where the other supports the nice silvery metal elbow that holds the horn and the reproducer. The most attention-drawing piece of this gramophone is surely its metal horn. Big in size and with lobed shape, it boasts an attractive bright red-lacquered finish. The red color makes an effective contrast with the woods tone and the silvery metal parts. The arm holds the reproducer, an original vintage piece that bears an inscription stating it was made in Germany. The gramophones motor is highly silent and works wonderfully, providing an excellent sound quality.Measurements: Boxs width: 390 mm. Total width (with horn): 670 mm.
