Impressive gramophone for left-handed users made in 1910. This is a very rare device with the crank located in the left side of the box and the reproducer is also turned. Most gramophones from those days are for right-handed users so this item is a highly interesting piece. It is also a very beautiful and classy machine. The motor is very silent and works perfectly, being able to play records with the same sound quality as when it was made, more than one hundred years ago.Al its parts and components are original and greatly preserved. The horns lacquered finish is also original; it is somewhat worn due to the trace of time, but surely this fact provides the item with even more authenticity and personality. The reproducer is a Parlophone piece, made by the company founded in Germany by Carl Lindstrom Company. The firm still survives though it is currently a record company, producing the works of some of the best and more popular bands nowadays. The gramophones reproducer is an original Parlophone, with the name of the brand engraved in capital letters. The gramophones box is made of wonderful solid mahogany wood, with a deep reddish tone and in very good condition. The outside finish has been restored so that the piece can as it deserves. Three of the boxs sides are embellished with neoclassical brass details in perfect condition. The original crank is also well preserved and can be turned in order to operate the motor. At the top we can see an oval golden metal plate with an embossed inscription: APARATOS PARLANTES JOSÉ SOLER AVIÑÓ, 1 BARCELONA (José Soler Talking Machines). This plate indicates that the gramophone was originally purchased in the mentioned shop. This striking and original gramophone for left-handed users is a unique piece, worthy of a good museum of music-related antiques and instruments from the early 1900s.
