Collection of 14 Vieux Paris porcelain pieces with birds, painted by hand and made in France circa 1900. This is a gorgeous crockery set, entirely original from the period and remaining in an almost flawless condition. The collection includes 12 plates and 2 fruit-bowl-like centerpieces, all hand painted. The colorful painted images show off an attention to detail and subtleness worthy of the best watercolor artists. Each piece is decorated with blue areas which enhance the paintings beauty, including delicate gold borders in excellent condition. The combination of blue and gold, a real classic of stately porcelain pieces, works really fine and provides the pieces with a very special charm. The plates and centerpieces are entirely original from the period, though they bear no marks. This is normal as nearly seventy per cent of Vieux Paris porcelain is not marked by the manufacturers. They are made of fine high-quality porcelain, decorated with a wide array of colorful enamels. The gold borders frame the central image and the blue areas, decorating also the pieces edge with a fringe of semicircles. The decoration of the plates is in amazing condition. The painted birds include different species: swam, flamingo, grouse, mallard duck The attention to detail which show the feathers, the plants and trees and the background landscapes is really remarkable. The color range is quite wide, with different shades of each tone that provide the paintings with depth. The two centerpieces that come with the plates are stylized and elegant. Both have a central foot that elevates them over the table, making up a very special and stylish design. They are twin pieces that are only differentiated by the central painted motifs. Both motifs depict colorful parrots, though each bird shows different colors and positions. The images are slightly worn; this suggests that the centerpieces were more used than the plates. One of them shows some stains at the blue area, but overall they are finely preserved. None of the collections pieces show cracks, dents or broken parts, a really incredible feature considering that they are more than one century old. Every lover of high-quality antique porcelain will appreciate the beauty and originality of this collection of 14 pieces of Vieux Paris porcelain painted by hand.
