Antique French Liquor Cabinet with Baccarat Glassware. France, Circa 1870

Stunning antique French liquor cabinet with Baccarat glassware, made in the period of Napoleon III. The cabinet comes from France and was made circa 1870, so today is nearly 150 years old. Both the cabinet and the glassware remain in amazing condition, making up a beautiful and authentic set. The small piece of furniture mounts a fully-operational lock; the key is not the original one, but still fulfills perfectly its function. The liquor cabinet is made of solid wood and boasts a compact square shape. It stands on four small round legs with the same finish as the rest of the piece. The finish, a gorgeous shiny black lacquer, is in a really superb condition. The same can be said about the marquetry details that decorate the front side and the top of the liquor cabinet. These details are made of brass and depicts Pompeian-style motifs framed by elegant rectangular lines. They are complete: all the small pieces are original and there is no one missing. The liquor cabinet is opened by lifting the top part, which is connected to the front side through a hinge. The sides also mount hinges and can be removed to show the gorgeous inner glassware. Inside the wooden panels bear a fine lacquered finish that imitates the veneer of mahogany wood. The glassware is composed of sixteen cups and four bottles, all of them embellished with hand-carved flowers and birds. They are stored in a brass support and make up a beautiful set, extremely delicate. Many pieces show small round stickers with the inscription BACCARAT FRANCE.
