Antique metal dry stamp made in England circa 1900, in working order and finely preserve. This curious item keeps the original die in very good condition so it can be used to stamp soft materials such as wax, paper, metal sheet etc. The mechanism consists on a solid rectangular metal base with a curved piece standing on top. This piece contains a metal die and a mobile lever; when pressed, the lever lowers the die and this marks the stamp in the material. The resulting stamp contains the inscription GLOURIE LIMITED. The device preserves part of the original black and golden finish and is decorated with golden motifs of branches with fruits and leaves. One of the motifs is almost completely gone, while the other remains in quite good condition. At the back of the piece we can the name of the business where the dry stamp was once used, in well-preserved black lettering on a golden background: CHAS DAVY & CO. LTD. COMPANY REGISTRATION AGENTS LONDON. This antique dry stamp is a real collectors piece, full of character and which can still leave its mark in many places. Dimensions: Width: 6.36 in / 15.9 cm. Depth: 3.32 in / 8.3 cm. Height: 8 in / 20 cm.
