Superb antique Spanish artillery officers sword model 1842. According to the inscription engraved in the blade, this weapon was forged in the Factory of Toledo, Spain circa 1842. It is greatly preserved and keeps all its simple and powerful beauty. The year engraved in the blade is slightly worn and cannot be read properly, but according to the type of mark it is probably one of the first model-1842 swords ever forged in Spain. The saber-swords blade shows a series of marks or dents at the edge which indicates that it entered battle; this fact increases its interest and power of attraction. The hilt has brass cross-guard and D-guard, with a fine design that includes three branches and engraved flowery decoration. The pommel is also made of brass and protects a fine dark solid-wooden grip in very good condition. This antique Spanish artillery officers saber-sword is more than 170 years old and probably hides many fascinating histories of battles. Measurements: Total Lenght: 38.4 in / 96 cm.
