Antique 18K gold ladies pocket watch made in France circa 1870 and in excellent working order. The watch shows an elegant and discreet design and remains in fine condition. The casing is made of solid 18K gold, with horsehead-shaped hallmarks in the rear cap and the dustcap. These marks were stamped on French gold pieces made in those times. The front cap is made of glass and protects a white dial with black Roman numerals and cathedral-style hands. The rear cap bears a lovely hand-engraved guilloche decoration with a circular flowery garland and a clean central shield for the owners initials. Under this cap, the dustcap has an engraved inscription: Cylindre HUIT TROUS Rubies, and we can see the mentioned hallmark just beside it. Theere are more hallmars in the cases edge, visible when we lift the dustcap. The cylinder-escapement movement is finely preserved and works well. For its quality and beauty, this antique 18K gold ladies watch will shine as part of a stylish outfit or in a good collection. Dimensions: Width: 34 mm. Weight: 34 g.
