Fine antique 18K-gold verge-fusee pocket watch by JR Mauris, made circa 1810 in Geneva, Switzerland. This delicate item is in fine working order and comes with its original antique key. The casing shows no hallmarks except for some very tiny marks in the ring. But it has been acid-tested by a professional who has checked it is made of 18K gold, so together with the watch we provide a document where its quality is stated. The white porcelain dial shows a hand-painted charming romantic scene depicting a woman in a rural landscape, lying on her left side and watching a small animal (probably a dog) which requires her attention. It has black enameled Arab numerals and ‘fassonzeiger’ hands, and is signed at the 12 position. Inside, the rear cap bears the engraved initials GHIG; under this cap we find the movement, in excellent condition and preserving all its charm.
