Lovely couple of earrings dating from the era of Queen Isabel II (Spain). They were made at the end of 19th century. The huge beauty of these fine jewels comes along with their age and quality of execution, to form a set as attractive as valuable. The earrings are made of finely worked solid gold (18 K) with silver views, with a filigree design that carries no less than six diamonds in each earring. The cutting of the diamonds is antique, which increases their value and attractive. As well as the diamonds, both earrings have a big amethyst each, of intense red color. In the 19th century, amethysts were considered valuable gems, having the same value as diamonds or rubies. Their presence in this couple of earrings testifies to their value they were given then. They come into an antique leather case, with the inside covered in white satin.
