Wonderful wooden Philips record player, original from the sixties and in excellent condition. This fine vintage record player boasts a retro design, though it looks surprisingly modern and is a perfect piece to become part of a contemporary home. The article is a fully original article and can reproduce vinyl and gramophone records of all kinds (from 16 to 78 rpm). It is a portable model: the speakers can be put on the turntable box so all the pieces make up a compact rectangular set. Attached to one of the box´s sides we can see a handle designed to carry the player. This reproducer is model AG 5957. At the front of the turntable, to the right we can see the market name PHILIPS together with the word STEREO. Philips is a company that was founded in Eindhoven (Netherlands) in 1891, by Frederik Philips and his son Gerard. Nowadays it is one of the largest electronics companies in the world. Among its most popular designs we can mention the Philips Chapel radio, the Compact Audio Cassette and the Compact Disc that the firm produced in collaboration with Sony.At the front of the turntable we can see the knobs designed to control the sound quality and the volume. At the top, the turntable bears a red lever to select the number of RPM of the record to be played. Both the turntables and speakers boxes are made of solid wood, a fine golden brown material adorned with slim dark parallel strokes. The speakers have grooved planks in order to let the sound out. If we turn the record player upside down we will find an attached plate with information about the model (AG 5957/222), the voltage, the watts and the serial number: 185528.Any lover of original retro record players with the best sound quality and most attractive design will appreciate the beauty of this model by Philips.Measurements (closed):
