This beautiful antique sword, very simple and elegant, is the model 1796 for light cavalry troops. It is in good condition and preserves the nice patina that the time and the use have deposited on the metal. The sword has a clipped point blade, designed to attack. This is a modification that was made by the cavalry soldiers themselves who preferred this type of tips on their swords. The blade is slightly curved and shows the classic fuller along its design. It is made of steel and so is the hilt; this piece boasts a simple and practical design with the cross and the quillon being part of just one piece. The grip is also part of this piece and together with the rest creates a balanced and solid whole that provides a good grip. Inside the grip has a dark wooden piece with carved grooves that makes the sword easier to hold. Its elegance and ancient age turn this sword into a great collectors piece that surely took part in many battles. Measurements: Lenght: 35 in / 89 cm.
