This impressive defense dagger is a very ancient weapon, in excellent condition and boasting a really attractive design. This piece was made in Spain in the 19th century and has survived to our days in very good condition. The inherent beauty of this dagger is enhanced by the charming patina that more than one hundred years have deposited on it: this feature turns the weapon into a piece with a singular decorative power. The daggers shows off a balanced and interesting design, with straight sharp blade and hilt with curved quillons. Defense daggers were formerly used as a complement of the sword and also to be carried under the clothes as personal defense weapons. The curved quillons provide the dagger with a special and attractive look. Close to the gross-guard we can see the blades mark, clearly stamped on the metal. The blade is in quite good condition, showing only some slightly darkened parts due to the trace of time. The hilt, on the other hand, is wonderfully preserved. The cross-guard is made of still and so is the pommel that trims the top end. The grip is made of solid wood with a lovely golden brown color. Around the grip we can see the double-spiral twisted wire, a beautiful element that remains in great condition too. A fearsome weapon once, today this dagger is a stylish and decorative piece that will shine in any collection of historic swords. Arma temible en su día, en la actualidad esta daga es una pieza decorativa y con estilo que brillará en cualquier colección de armas históricas. Measurements: Length: 15.5 in / 39.5 cm.
