Striking defense dagger, antique and very decorative. This piece is well preserved and boasts a great charm. It was made in Albacete, Spain in the 19th century and has survived to our days in really good condition. There are some brass decoration missing and a small ball-shaped trimming piece that is also missing. Nevertheless, this is avery rare model. The dagger is made of steel, with stylized and fine blade and bone- and brass-covered hilt. The hilt is gorgeous and remains in quite good condition. This lovely daggers steel blade looks great. Probably the blade and the hilt, both antique and from the 19th century, are from 2 different wapons. The blade shows no signs of rust or wear and the only signs of the trace of time and use are small darkened and worn parts. These details create a nice patina that is actually a part of the weapons past and provides it with a singular interest. The rest of the hilt, also made of steel, is completely made of brass and bone. These two materials alternate creating a lovely combination of colors, textures and surfaces. The brass bears a fine punched decoration and the bone piece that covers the center part bears a series of carved vertical grooves that do not only look good but also improve the grip. The hilt is crowned by another bone piece, flat and even and with a soft rounded end. This striking defense dagger is the perfect piece to shine in a showcase with the most beautiful antique weapons.Measurements: Length: 17.3 in /44 cm.
