This is a great Spanish machete for Cuba circa 1880. This is a unique machete, it is out of the ordinary, with ivory and bone handles and a scabbard with inlaid decorations made by craftsmen, with big game scenes of the African lion. The pommel of the machete is shaped as a bust of an Indian Prince. The eyes are two embedded sapphires. The handle grips are ivory which has a repair done with bone. The blade is flawless, no signs of age. The weapon measures 88 cms with the scabbard, 86 cms without and 72 cms blade only.
