This model features the shield of Spain with the logo and the initials of the institution. The blade is engraved on the front with their city of origin, "TOLEDO", and the reverse with the year of manufacture, "1882". His pod, in dark brown leather, is reinforced with brass tip and golden rim with Spanish shield in the latter button. Despite its overall conservation status is correct the passage of time has shrunk it. The model 1844 is the first used by this institution, named Guardia Civil by Spanish Queen Isabel II herself in identifying their military and civilian dual nature.
