Unusual Spanish machete for Navy gunner cadet. Mod 1836. Both the handle and the blade, are very similar to the Spanish Cadets of the Royal Artillery College, 1836 model, except that instead of presenting 2 crossed cannons, has two crossed anchors. The scabbard is made of brass and has two crossed cannons. It's the only one that I have ever seen in my live. The bladet has two dates. The first, 1864, seems to be the year of manufacture. The second, 1928, is next to 1 an anagram of the Spanish Guardia Civil. I do not know why. It could be reused for any corps of the Guardia Civil. Weapon length 56 cms. Blade length 44 cms.
