Beautiful antique German sword with foldable cross-guard, with its original scabbard and both made of steel. The sword comes from Germany, where it was manufactured circa 1900. It shows an imposing and sober design and remains in very good condition. At the point where the blade connects the guard we can see an engraved inscription: W K&C (corresponding to Weyersberg, Kirschbaum & Cie). On top of the inscription there are two symbols: a crowned head and a helmet. On the other hand, the scabbard bears a mark of the regiment to which the owner of the sword once belonged. But surely the most remarkable part of this fascinating piece is its hilt, made of steel and wood and with a sturdy simple design. The two parts of the cross-guard can be folded and unfolded; this made it possible to easily store and carry the sword. The folding mechanism is in working order and so are the hinges. For its intelligent design, charisma and beauty, this antique German sword with foldable cross-guard is a real collectors piece with a strong power of attraction. Measurements: Total Length: 36.8 in / 92 cm. Blade Length: 31.6 in / 79 cm.
