Gorgeous light cavalry saber-sword model 1840, quite antique and in very good condition. This amazing ancient weapon shows off a classic an elegant design that stands out for its purity of lines and the fine metal combination. The steel blade is greatly preserved and bears a delicate hand-engraved inscription at the top: Artillería. Fábrica de Toledo. Año de 1855 (Artillery. Factory of Toledo. Year of 1855). The inscription is in very good condition and remains perfectly legible. The hilt is made of brass and has a D-guard; this piece divides in three branches that end at the cross-guard. The grip is made of dark solid wood and is partially covered by a brass plate from whose top (pommel) emerges the quillon. It also preserves the original twisted wire. At the front of the top guard (which makes a nice pointed shape) we can see the engraved number 273. The sober design of this fine antique light cavalry saber-sword provides it with a really special attractive and turns it into a collectors piece. Measurements: Total Length: 40.8 in / 102 cm. Blade Length: 34.8 in / 87 cm.
