Gorgeous American antique fraternity sword belonging to the Order of the Red Cross, made in the USA in 1900 and in really good condition. This ceremonial weapon shows off a very special beauty: the blade is decorated with fine acid engravings and the scabbard is embellished with embossed motifs. The grip is made of light-colored wood and bears a cross printed in black ink, perfectly preserved. The pommel is shaped as a helmet; the cross bears another embossed helmet of a different type. The engravings of the blade depict images of helmets, knights and crosses together with vegetal motifs and volutes; one of the images shows a knight holding the Red Cross flag. In the center of the blade we can see the inscription Cullen & Cassidy. The scabbard is decorated with many embossed motifs depicting warriors, knights, castles and the Red Cross (painted in bright red enamel) with a blue crown. The scabbard bears the engraved name Cullen & Cassidy, same as the blade, too. The inherent beauty of this antique fraternity sword belonging to the Order of the Red Cross is reason enough to turn it into one of the starring pieces of the best collection of weapons. Measurements: Blade Length: 27.6 in / 69 cm. Total Length: 34.8 in / 87 cm.
