Antique saber for artillery officer made in Spain circa 1842 and in excellent condition. This is quite a rare piece; according to the volume Spanish Military and Civil Swords between the XVI and XX Centuries, it is believed that this saber somehow filled the void suffered by artillery officers until the arrival of their first reglementary model in 1862, as the model which appeared in 1855 was produced exclusively for the horse artillery brigade. The saber stands out for its beautiful design, specially at the hilt, and its amazing condition. The steel Blade looks polished and shiny, while the D-guard is made of brass and remains finely preserved. This piece is divided in three branches that end at the cross-guard, making up a good-looking design. The grip preserves the original leather wrapping and wire both in an almost impeccable condition. This antique saber for artillery officer will stand out for its elegant design and good condition, turning into the central piece of any self-respecting collection. Dimensions: Blade Length: 30.71 in / 78 cm. Total Length: 36.22 in / 92 cm.
