Gorgeous antique Spanish saber sword model Robert for foot soldiers, made in Spain in 1898 and in striking condition. The saber comes in its original steel scabbard and they both make up a truly authentic item with an elegant presence. The blade is also made of steel; near the hilt we can see the engraved inscription FÁBRICA DE ARMAS TOLEDO 1898 (Toledo Weapon Factory 1898). At the other side of the blade we find the Spanish coat of arms, engraved directly on the metal with delicate precision. The motif is engraved inside an almond-shaped frame and has the royal crown on top. The hilt is simple and sturdy; the grip mounts two wooden side pieces with a hand-engraved diamond pattern which improves the grip. The side pieces are riveted to the steel base. The D-guard is made of an only steel piece molded in the shape of a bowl, with no decoration at all. This fine Spanish saber model Robert for foot soldiers deserves to become part of the best collection of old-time weapons, or even to be shown in a history or military museum. Dimensions: Blade Length: 28.74 in / 73 cm. Total Length: 35.43 in / 90 cm.
