Antique British sword for infantry officer mod. 1822, in fine condition and made in the Victorian era. The sword mounts steel blade and golden metal hilt, both boasting an elegant and attractive design. The blade shows an engraved mark near the cross-guard which contains the inscription PROVED. The hilts grip is covered by an amber-colored paste or resin whose rough surface improves the grip. It also preserves the original twisted wire. The golden metal D-guard shows a fine openwork design with the initials VR and the royal crown. All these features turn this sword into an exclusive piece, full of charm and with a strong decorative power.
