Antique Napoleonic Briquet saber model AN XI, made in France circa 1810 and in good condition. This striking saber is a historic piece more than two centuries old, forged during the First French Empire. Its sober appearance matches its function: this weapon is designed for body-to-body combat, so it has to be easy to use and efficient. The steel blade shows clearly the patina of time, a logical detail in such an antique weapon and which provides it with a plus in authenticity. The hilt is entirely made of brass and shows off an elegant design, with curved quillon at the cross-guard and tapered grip. The D-guard bears two engraved marks, together with the inscription VERSAILLES.
