Very rare antique Napoleonic sword for cavalry of cuirassiers, model AN XIII, made in France in 1814 during the First French Empire. This fine weapon mounts a steel blade in quite good condition. The blade bears a hand-engraved inscription that, though being somewhat worn, is still legible: Klingenthal, Janvier 1814. At the top of the blade, near the hilt we can see some hallmarks too. The hilt is made of brass and boast a fine design, with four curved quillons. The main quillon bears the engraved serial number and two marks. The grip is made of dark solid wood and preserves the original twisted wire. The scabbard is made of steel and is also in good condition; it bears its own serial number engraved at the locket, 159 A. So rare and really beautiful, this antique Napoleonic sword for cavalry of cuirassiers model AN XIII is an awesome piece, worthy to belong to a museum or a good collection.
