Antique bayonet with ivory grip and scabbard made in Toledo, Spain in 1863. The bayonet boasts a singular and beautiful design, entirely decorated with embossed and engraved scrolls all over its surface. It comes with its original leather scabbard, which preserves the embossed-metal locket and chappe. The locket is adorned with a gilt-brass detail depicting a wolfs head. The bayonets hilt is composed of a brass cross-guard and ivory and turned-wooden grip. The grip is in good condition: the white ivory makes a fine contrast with the reddish wood and the golden metal. Among the scrolls that ornament the brass cross-guard we can see the inscription FCA. DE TOLEDO 1863 (Factory of Toledo 1863). The steel blade is also decorated with foliate motifs on both sides; one of them includes the year and city of manufacture. Both the bayonet and the scabbard are in good condition. This antique bayonet with ivory grip and scabbard will stand out in any collection or as a decorative element. Dimensions: Total Length: 13 in / 33 cm. Blade Length: 8 in / 20.5 cm.
