Amazing antique Nazi German army dagger for Wehrmacht officer, complete and 100% original (guaranteed), made in Germany circa 1940 and in excellent condition. This is a German heer dagger (heer means territorial army), coming with its scabbard and the original ornaments, even the leather hanger and the original portepee. This weapon is in spectacular condition and is a beautiful piece too: the blade is shiny and the pumpkin-color bakelite grip is equally fine-looking. The cross-guard is adorned with the embossed Nazi symbol, an eagle with open wings sitting on a swastika. At the other side of the blade we can see the engraved initials of the daggers original owner, F.I.A. At the top of the blade there is a mark depicting a squirrel holding a sword. The image is accompanied by the inscription ORIGINAL EICKHORN SOLINGEN. This tells us that this German heer dagger was made by the business founded by Carl Eickhorn in Solingen, Germany in 1865, a company still active. The hilt has a cotton cord with silvery tassel which was originally intended to hold the dagger to the wrist in order not to lose it. In this case it is just a decorative ornament. The metal scabbard is adorned with engraved oak leaves and preserves the original leather hangers in good condition. This Nazi German army dagger for Wehrmacht officer, complete and 100% original, will surely shine as part of the best collection of historic weapons. Dimensions: Blade Length: 9.85 in / 25 cm. Total Length: 14.76 in / 37.5 cm.
