Antique Air Force survival knife in Vietnam, made in USA in 1971 and in excellent condition. This survival knife was part of the military equipment of fighter and helicopter pilots of the US Army. The first models were made in the 1950s; from the 1970s on similar models for civilians started being manufactured too, becoming part of the equipment of travelers and backpackers. The knife which we can see in the photographs is a solid and fine item, with high-quality steel blade and with the original leather sheath in great condition. The sheath is light brown, with solid and regular seams and a small pocket which hides a rectangular sharpening stone. The knife grip is made of leather. The pommel is hexagonal in shape and bears the engraved mark CAMILUS N.Y. 2-1971. At the back of the sheath there is another printed inscription where we can still read the following words: KNIFE HUNTING SHEATHED SURVIVAL and the date, APRIL 1971. This antique Air Force survival knife in Vietnam is an original piece with historic value, and can also be the best travel and adventure companion. Dimensions: Blade Length: 4.9 in / 12.4 cm.
