Antique saber-sword from the Spanish Navy, made in Spain circa 1950 and in quite good condition. This fine weapon is the model 1844-57 in its 1950 version. The sword has steel blade adorned with the inscription MARINA ESPAÑOLA in elegant capital lettering, the Navy coat of arms and stylized vegetal and ornamental motifs. The brass guard has an abatable part with the name M. ROMERO engraved by hand in its inner side. It is decorated with the Navy coat of arms too. The hilt is trimmed by a brass pommel in the shape of a lions head, well preserved and with the original twisted wire. The leather scabbard preserves the brass locket and chape; the locket bears the engraved name AZNAR, diagonally disposed. The seam is slightly undone near the chape, but overall it is in good condition. This amazing antique saber-sword from the Spanish Navy is an authentic piece, with a powerful presence and of undeniable interest for collectors. Dimensions: Blade Length: 24.78 in / 73 cm.
