Antique machete for Spanish infantry officers in Cuba with lions head, forged circa 1890 and in very good condition. This great piece stands out for its gorgeous hilt, trimmed by a lions head and with wooden grip adorned with inlaid light-colored strips. It includes a wavy cross-guard, connected to the grip by an embossed brass piece. The blade is made of steel and is marked with the manufacturers name. THEILE Y QUACK ELBERFELD GARANTIZADO. On the other side we can see the number 1041. The leather scabbard preserves the brass locket and chape; the locket has a brass applique with a modernist-style womans face, beautiful and in great condition.
