Machete for the Civil Guard in Cuba. C-1880. Spain

Rare Spanish machete for the Civil Guard stationed in Cuba. In good condition. Complete, with its scabbard. There is a copy of this machete in the Army Museum and some others are in private collections. It was catalogued in annex 5 of the Spanish Association of Collectors of Antique Arms and Historical Memories, as Machete for Artilleryman model 1802, but recent investigations have demonstrated that this classification is erroneous. The difficulty in cataloguing it gives an idea of the rarity of the machete. Length of the weapon 63 cms. Blade length 47,5 cms.
