Superb silver serving cutlery set made by Veyrat, Paris circa 1840. This firm was founded by Jean Françoise Veyrat, registered as a silversmith between 1832 and 1840. The wonderful set includes eight tools to serve meat, fish and desserts, all of them decorated with great hand-embossed and hand-engraved motifs. Some tools show fine latticework parts with amazing intertwined shapes which provide the pieces with richness and originality. The tools bear hallmarks which testify for their origin and manufacture, as well as the mark VEYRAT in visible places. Inside the case is covered of velvet and satin, both blue and in fine condition. The lids lining bears a golden inscription reading F. VEYRAT & CIE - 24 Rue de Chateau dEau PARIS. Outside the case is covered of black leather and bears the initials EC engraved in the center. This superb silver serving cutlery set made by Veyrat is a luxurious item, so gorgeous and in excellent condition.
