Nostalgic antique Leica III camera with its original leather sleeve. This fine piece comes from Germany where it was made in 1922. The camera remains in good condition; though it has not been tested with film, the mechanism is in working order. Even so, it is advisable to clean it thoroughly so it can show a good performance. In order to use the camera it should be equipped with a proper objective. The brass casing bears a black enameled finish, slightly worn at the corners. This detail provides the camera with an original and authentic touch and does not interfere at all with its good working order. The casings leather covering is not well preserved, because it shows a slim crack at one side. At the top of the camera we can see the manufacturers name, the brand logo and the serial number Nº 126468 engraved in the metal. Inside the camera, the rear curtain is original and remains in fine condition. The leather sleeve is original and well preserved; it retains the carryingstrap and bears the embossed Leica logo. The sleeve itself has an estimate price of 40-60 $. Charismatic and original, this antique Leica III camera will stand out in a good collection together with the best brands of photographic equipment of all time.Leica Cameras History The famous Leica camera was born in 1913 when Oskar Barnack built the first prototypes for Enrst Leitz Wetzlar, a prestigious optic material manufacturing company.
