Stylish antique mantel pendulum clock with Westminster quarter repeater made in Germany circa 1900, in good condition and fine working order. The clock chimes the hours and the quarters with the famous classic tune, one of the most complicated. The movement works really fine and includes two additional levers: one of them mutes the chimes and the other makes it possible to adjust the quarters. The clocks box is made of solid walnut wood, carved by hand and finely preserved. It bears a good-looking satin finish which enhances the lovely golden-brown color of the material. The box is neoclassic in design, a very common style in the early 20th century. It has side columns flanking the glass door and semicircular crowning piece. This piece and the base are decorated with hand-carved vegetal-inspired volutes, in fine condition. The glass door lets us see a rectangular brass plate with a central dial. The dial has black Arab numbers painted on a white enameled crown. It mounts Fassonzeiger black-metal hands and is adorned with three delicate brass details which frame the design. The clocks box is closed with a rear walnut-dyed pinewood panel. This panel has a square door which makes it possible to reach the movement and the pendulum. The movement bears the hand-engraved inscription MADE IN WURTENBERG PATENTED IN ALL COUNTRIES and the serial number 3065 at the bottom. This beautiful antique mantel pendulum clock with Westminster chimes will display its lovely design and amazing sound in the most special living room. Dimensions: Width: 12.4 in / 31.5 cm. Height: 17.72 in / 45 cm. Depth: 8 in / 20.5 cm.
