Antique briquet saber for infantry sergeant model 1818, forged in Spain and in very good condition. The model is similar to the French AN13 saber from 1804; the Spanish army copied the design to make their own sabers. According to the book Spanish military and civil swords from the 16th to the 29th centuries, many sabers for grenadiers, hunters, royal Walloon guards etc., were grouped under the generic infantry troop name, including the corporals and sergeants. For the latter this saber was a sign of range until the 20th century. The weapon that we can see in the images mounts steel blade and brass hilt, both finely preserved. The hilt stands out for its simple and stylized design, which turns the sager into an elegant piece. This attractive briquette saber for infantry sergeant model 1818 is an exclusive and antique item, perfect for collectors. Dimensions: Blade Length: 26.38 in / 67 cm. Total Length: 31.89 in / 81 cm.
