Beautiful antique ceremonial sword for infantry officer model 1867, dated in 1887 and in good condition. The sword that we can see in the images mounts a lean steel blade, with no remarkable signs of the trace of time or use and with the year 1887 engraved close to the hilt. The hilt itself is a gorgeous piece, entirely made of brass and with the classic embossed decoration of the ceremonial sword of those days. The D-guard is embellished with engraved flowers and is connected to the cross-guard, an ample part divided in two symmetrical circular side pieces. One of them is adorned with an oval shield over a laurel wreath, while the other shows a central scallop and side volutes. In the middle, between these two side pieces we can see a dog-shaped quillon. The tapered grip bears a series of horizontal grooves, while the pommel shows a delicate decoration with engraved vegetal motifs. The lovely hilt and the stylized blade of this antique ceremonial sword for infantry officer model 1867 turn it into a piece with a strong power of attraction, worthy of an ambitious collection. Dimensions: Blade Length: 35.43 in / 76 cm. Total Length: 29.92 in / 90 cm.
