Gorgeous Bracket mantel clock from the XIX Century, circa 1870 (around 1870), with more than one hundred years old and completely restored. This impressive clock was made in England and preserves all the original pieces and component parts. The movement has been fine-tuned so the clock works wonderfully. It is equipped with double chime, Westminster and Cambridge. The box is made of ebonized wood, decorated with fine golden bronze details. It has been fully restored by a professional and boasts a striking look and an almost impeccable condition. The clocks movement bears the clockmakers name engraved in the metal: Jenner. This name corresponds to Jenner & Knewstub, a firm founded in London in 1856 by Frederick Jenner and Fabian J.Knewstub. The business started in 22 James Street and in 1862 moved to 66 Jermyn Street. They made high-quality and beautiful clocks; they were shown in the International Exhibition of 1862 and in the Internationa Exposition that took place in Paris in 1878. Jenner & Knewstub obtained many royal warrants including those of the Russian royal family and Queen Victoria. This stunning clock shows clearly the great quality of the British companys models. Neoclassical in style, the design has lovely golden details such as grooved pillars and stylized crowning pieces. The legs are made of BRONZE too and so are the face, the side grids and the handles. The grids are covered by strawberry-pink silk, original and wonderfully preserved. The movement chimes over 8 bells and a gong for the hours. As fine-looking as antique, this English Bracket clock is an exclusive piece that will stand out in a stylish room.Measurements: Width: 14.17 in / 36 cm.
