Antique surgery set made circa 1850, in fine condition and original from the time. The storing case is made of solid wood, an exotic variety quite resistant to moisture and use. Inside we find a series of tools used to perform emergency surgical operations. One of the pieces is missing and others replace some of the original tools, worn or missing along the years. The instruments are disposed in a base with holes shaped like them, perfect to keep them in place. The tools are all made of steel and mount black wooden handles. The set includes some big knives, a blade with tortoiseshell grip plates and a rare chainsaw for amputations. The case itself is finely preserved and has an embedded brass plate in the lid, with no engraved inscriptions. Inside the lid keeps the original red velvet lining in quite good condition. Any lover of medicine-related antiques will surely appreciate this antique surgical set, a piece more than 150 years old. Dimensions: Width: 17.72 in / 45 cm. Depth: 8.27 in / 21 cm.
