This medical instrument set was made in France in the early 20th century (circa 1900) and all its components are original from the period. The set is complete and in good condition; each tool bears the engraved manufacturers mark, the word AUBRY, engraved in the metal. The set comes in a solid wooden case, also original and covered in red velvet inside. In general, the equipment is in great conditions. The word Aubry corresponds to A. Aubry,a famous surgical and medical tools manufacturer that stablished his business in Boulevard Saint Michel, Paris. Aubry worked in the 19th and 20th centuries and in 1900 he published a catalogue that summarizes his full work: Catalogue Illustre des Instruments de Chirurgie. This stunning medical set is a good example of his work. The case contains eight tools and two accessories for the metal pump. The tools are made of steel and remain in good condition, showing only the nice patina created by the trace of time and the use. The small pump included in the set is made of golden brass and comes with two interchangeable nozzles of the same metal. The rest of the set is composed of a pen-knife, two scissors, two tweezers of different sizes and two scalpels. The scalpels handles are made of black-dyed solid wood. On the other hand, the case is made of solid walnut wood and shows a strikingly good condition. The lock and the key are original and remain in working order. This amazing antique medical set will shine in the showcase or library of a medical professional who loves antiques.Measurements: Width: 9 in / 23 cm.
