Lovely pharmacy balance scale made of golden brass on a wooden base. The base has a drawer to store the weigh set. This delicate article was made in France in the early 20th century and is in quite good condition. The scale keeps all its original component parts and works fine. The scale comes with a complete set of weigh and a cutting blade to prepare the products. The scales base is a wide box made of solid walnut wood. The wood looks good and shows a wonderful deep veneer that forms shades and wavy shapes in all the sides. The edges of the top are beveled and covered with brass strips that provide elegance and strength to the base. The joints are solid and remain in perfect condition, while the woods surface keeps the original finish boasting a fine satin glow. The balance scale is composed of various mobile parts, slim and stylized. It keeps the original beam, pans, base, plumb line and screws. The brass these pieces are made of shows off a nice golden shade with the attractive patina that the trace of time has left on it. The weigh set, composed of cylindrical pieces with the weigh engraved at the top, can be stored into the bases drawer. Inside the drawer is covered by dark blue linen, a nice background for the weighs to stand out. These pieces are accompanied by other utensils such as the mentioned blade.
