This magnificent group of medical tools is a urology equipment set made in the late 19th- early 20th century. The tools come in their original box, made of wonderful brown-reddish solid wood with a deep black veneer. The set is in very good condition, with all the pieces bearing the brand mark (COLLIN) and its corresponding number. The wooden case is divided in compartments to store the items in perfect order; it has also two removable trays that contain a complete collection of specific tools each, with different sizes and gauges. If we remove the trays, at the bottom of the box we will find two big bladder syringes made of steel and glass. The straight piece located in the handle can be removed; inside there is a spare cannula that can be used instead the one the syringe mounts. The syringes are scaled and very well preserved. There are also other items such as endoscopies, thongs, a lithotomy tool (used to cut and section bladder stones) and a small hammer. The top tray contains a wide array of lithotripters. These tools were used to destroy the bladder stones through the urethra. They are made of steel except for the circular brass pieces that can be turned in order to manipulate the device. The second tray contains a set of dilator probes, also complete and well preserved. Last but not least, the case itself is extremely beautiful and the wood looks great. It is made of solid planks connected by delicate and strong dovetail joints at the corners. Because of its rare quality and amazing looks, this medical instrument set is a collectors piece that will stand out in any showcase. Measurements: Width: 18.9 in/48 cm. Height: 12.5 in/32 cm.
