Serving cutlery set made of white metal and sterling silver with marks and silversmiths hallmarks. The set comes from France and is dated in the 19th century so the cutlery is more than one hundred years old. Though, all the pieces are in great condition and show off a lovely classic-inspired design, sophisticated and balanced. The set is composed of four pieces: spoon, fork, knife and spatula. The utensils are composed of two parts: a sterling-silver handle and a silvery-white-metal top part. All of them bear hallmarks that identify both materials. The handles bear hallmarks that testify for the country of origin and the silversmith, while the metal parts are marked with the initials C. C. and the words METAL BLANC. The metal is profusely decorated with engraved motives: flowers, leaves, lines, points On the other hand, the sterling-silver parts also bear gorgeous hand-engraved decorative motives. The handles are embellished with Pompeian-style elements, so balanced, symmetrical and stylized. The cutlery set comes in an antique case, outside covered with dark faux leather with golden embossed motives and inside covered of bone-white satin. The outside covering is somewhat worn at the corners but it is almost complete. At the inner side of the cover we can see the silversmiths signature, E. Rustan BÉZIERS, printed in the center of the satin lining. Beautiful and functional, this serving cutlery set will surely shine in the most elegant and stately dining table.
