Antique 18K gold pocket watch, made by Thomas Russell in England in 1879 and in fine condition. The watch is in working order and is an attractive and functional item. The beautiful decoration of the rear cap is especially remarkable, with an intricate hand-engraved flowery garland and a central shield with the initial of a former owner. This is a pendant-style watch, designed to be worn as a brooch or a necklace. The gold dial has black Roman numerals, black poire-style hands and the name Thomas Russel & Son, a company which was active in Liverpool in the second half of the 19th century. Inside the rear cap and the dustcap we can see some hallmarks; there is the Chester hallmark and the 1879 one too. There is also a serial number, 139462. The movement shows a very uncommon design, with the inscription RUSSELLS MACHINE MADE LEVER engraved in the plate. For its beauty and high quality, this 18K gold ladies pocket or pendant watch made by Thomas Russell will stand out as an accessory or as part of a complete collection. Dimensions: Width: 39 mm.
