Extraordinary Fench army Charriere surgery set, made in France circa 1870 and in very good condition. The storing case contains a complete amputation equipment with all the necessary tools signed by CHARRIERE A PARIS. The case is a fine oak-wooden box with embedded brass handle and a brass plate with the number 76. Inside it is covered in red felt, finely preserved and with gaps to fit the tools so they remain well organized and stable. The set includes a saw, a tourniquet, forceps, suture needles and different types of tweezers. Inside we find a printed paper sheet with the list of instruments, a Ministry circular letter dated in December 1889 and which appears to have been added later. They are all in fine condition. The case preserves the lock and the key in working order. This extraordinary French army Charriere surgery set is a historical piece, worthy to be exhibited in a military or medicine-related museum.
