Fine antique postal scale designed to weigh letters precisely. It was made in France in the early 20th century. All its component parts are original and remain in good condition so the scale works fine and can still be used to weigh light items. The scales base is made of turned beech wood with a mahogany-like finish. Over the base stands the scale itself, composed of different brass parts that move fluidly. The metal is in good condition and preserves a nice time patina. In the middle of the scale we can see two engraved initials: AW together with the word DEPOSÉ (trade mark in French). As beautiful as authentic, this postal scale is a stylish item that will fill any room or collection with charm. Measurements: Width: 3.3 in / 8.5 cm. Height: 6.4 in / 16.5 cm.
