Decorative Jug in French Solid Silver manufactured in the 19th century. Of lobed body and decorative side handle, this beautiful jug has practically all its contour decorated with vegetable, floral and fruit forms, where undoubtedly the bunches of grapes that are repeated in handle, base and lid call the attention. The beautiful pearling that runs through the sinuous forms also stands out and makes this piece a truly decorative example. Scrolls and borders accompany the three original coats of arms that occupy the central area of the body of this jug, with the representation in high relief of the bust of two knights, one of them with a hat, and a lady. They are portrayed with magnificent detail, and stand out for their downward gaze. The jug has an undulating top lid that can be opened by means of a rear hinge. Undoubtedly the most special feature of this decorative jug is the figure of a funny monkey sitting on a cushion and grooming himself with a comb, which is located on the lid. This fantastic piece attaches the silver marks on all its parts, which attest that it is a completely genuine piece. It is a truly magnificent piece, made by a true master of silversmithing, capable of achieving these figures with such quality and realism. Composed of very original shapes (the figure of the upper monkey and the three busts), you will certainly not find examples of this type.
